Come and enjoy a great presentation and networking all in one place!
Monthly RRC-CAMFT Chapter Meeting will be held at Northern Valley Catholic Social Services, 2400 Washington Avenue, Redding
Thursday, August 8th, 12:00 to 1:30
Peggy "Alena Maria" Farver, MA
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist #35155 - Community Expressive Arts Therapist
Will be Presenting on
The Art of Countertransference
In this experiential workshop, we will be using expressive art to identify and explore a direct countertransference experience.
Participants will be guided through an exercise, with Alena Marie, using oil pastels and journaling. Time to share and process in paired grouping will follow this exercise.
This activity has a self-care focus and awareness component for the helping professional ... it helps our clients because we are better aware of who we are and how we may be affected in our private practice setting as active therapists.
When we are aware and dealing with countertransference issues, we perform and interact with an increased effectiveness using healthy, wellness patterns of interactivity, both with our clients and/or family, colleagues and friends!
* In a therapy context, transference refers to redirection of a patient's feelings for a significant person to the therapist. ... Countertransference is defined as redirection of a therapist's feelings toward a patient, or more generally, as a therapist's emotional entanglement with a patient.
LUNCH IS SERVED (Suggested donation is $5.00)
