Scholarship Application, 2017

The mission of the Redding Regional Chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists scholarship program is to assist students training to become psychotherapists in attaining advanced degree completion and encouraging excellence in the profession of marriage and family therapy. Applicants must be enrolled in a Board of Behavioral Science recognized program leading to licensure as a Marriage & Family Therapist. 


To be considered, applicants must be current members of the State CAMFT and be enrolled in a program of graduate study leading to licensure as a marriage and family therapist.  Applicants are awarded a free membership to the Redding Regional Chapter of CAMFT. 

Your application should include your full name, home address, business address, best telephone numbers to reach you, and your email address. 

Please respond to the following questions:

1.     Academic excellence List each college/university you have attended.  Please provide the name of the school, dates attended and degree.  Please provide the most recent transcript of coursework completed for your current degree program.  If you do not have at least one completed semester of course work at the graduate level, please submit a transcript for your complete undergraduate degree.

2.     Potential contribution to the profession.

A.     Please briefly describe the qualities you possess that will lead you to being an effective marriage and family therapist.

B.     What are your professional goals after receiving your Masters Degree?

3.      Essay

In 500 words or less, please address any one of the following topics:

A.    The single most important ‘family value’ is…

B.    A committed life partnership is different from any other human relationship.

    C.  What I see as the major challenges in raising children in my society today, and why.

    D.  Why understanding cultural diversity is important to the family therapist.
