The Law and Ethics will cover different content from last year. Following is a description:

What Does the Law Expect of Me? Part II

This is Part II of a multi-course series on the subject of the law's expectations for psychotherapists.  This is a lecture-format course that will draw on actual law cases to teach the underlying principles and will satisfy the BBS's on-going requirement of six (6) CEUs in law and ethics.

In What Does the Law Expect of Me? Part II, Dave Jensen will review the ten things that the psychotherapy profession comes down to and the following subjects: the psychotherapist and his or her relationship with the law; the rules pertaining to advertising; the rules pertaining to business entities therapists can use for their practices; patient access to records; the concept of unprofessional conduct; and, what makes a valid termination of the therapist-patient relationship different from an abandonment of such relationship.
