Dave Wilson

    David L.  Wilson, Ph D is a clinical psychologist, inventor, and author living with his wife Gail and the couples' beloved dog Emma in Redding.

    Dave was a Dana Scholar at Davidson College and Woodrow Wilson Fellow at UNC , Chapel Hill NC.  He served as an officer in the Medical Service Corps in the Army during the Vietnam War, 1965 – 1970.

    After completing his military service, Dave was in private practice in San Francisco.  Then he relocated with his family to Redding in 1972.  He operated a private practice from 1974 to 2017 and was Director of the Redding Psychotherapy Group from 1976 to 2012.  Concurrently, he was Director of a Combat Veterans Readjustment Counseling Program.  As a therapist he specialized in treating PTSD.  As a Psychodiagnostician he provided forensic services for the courts for over 40 years.

    A man of wide – ranging interests, Dave has written two stage plays that have been produced and a half-dozen books.  After closing his professional practice in 2017, Dave has focused on inventing and holds three patents, in all or part, which have produced royalties.

    Over the past 25 years, Dave's major commitments are living a spiritually grounded life and his relationships with his wife Gail, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  He is intimately familiar with Alcoholism and Alcoholics Anonymous and frequently speaks with professional groups on these topics.
